A grizzly bear and her cub walk along a mountain slope in search of corms. The yampas,glacier lilies, biscuit roots, and thistles are among her favorite flower roots. Bears also enjoy insects, nuts, fish, and various mammals. The cub or "coy", cub of the year, was born in January. It will stay with her for two more winters. When the offspring is two, the sow will drive off her young and breed again.
