Spring is a good time to identify this difficult group of birds, the warblers. Warblers are usually brightly colored, yellow, smaller than sparrows with thin needle pointed bills. Many of the warblers have lost their bright yellow coloring by fall which make them more difficult to identify. Look for warblers hawking insects in plum thickets or honey suckles.
